About Us

The Tanzania Climate Smart Agriculture Alliance (TCSAA) created on December 2016 by Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) stakeholders working in Tanzania is a platform for the promotion of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) across United Republic of Tanzania (Mainland and Zanzibar), with the aim of creating a truly national and broad-based forum on CSA in Tanzania through effective linkages with key CSA initiatives at the Region, Africa and Global levels.

The Alliance has its origins in a meeting convened by the East African Community (EAC) Secretariat in 2014 under the auspices of the Tripartite Climate Change Program jointly implemented by the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), East African Community (EAC) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) at which it was agreed that all EAC Partner States establish the National Climate Smart Agriculture Task Force (NCSATF).

To facilitate implementation of this recommendation, in December 2016, MALF together with Africa Climate Smart Agriculture Alliance (ACSAA) members in Tanzania convened a CSA stakeholder consultative meeting at which it was unanimously agreed to rename the Tanzania Climate Smart Agriculture Task Force (TCSATF) as Tanzania Climate Smart Agriculture Alliance (TCSAA).
